DIALOGUES: Rouen Cathedral, from perfume to art ceramics

The DIALOGUES collection brings together works born from the encounter between Berry and other forms of expertise. Each piece tells a story.

A perfume born from a cathedral

In 2015, Olfactive ID revealed the soul of Rouen Cathedral and created a new fragrance. In 2016, the Cathédrale perfumes took flight. A presence transformed into a bottle, a stone transformed into a breath.

The encounter with Elsa Dinerstein

Then came the encounter with ceramist Elsa Dinerstein. A first collaboration developed around the perfume "Savoir-faire," presented at an exhibition in 2024 at Carré Saint Cyr. From this collaboration was born a desire: to adapt Berry perfumes into Elsa's art ceramics, and to offer each creation a container of its own.

An inhabited stone

For Cathédrale, Elsa crafts an evocation of stone. The ceramic takes on the appearance of mineral and plays with the transparency of light, echoing the clarity that passes through the cathedral. The material retains the light.

Three formats, one presence

Like every formula, Cathédrale comes in several formats, all handcrafted.

The Fragment, a tiny tealight holder of about five centimeters, also doubles as a coffee cup.

The intermediate size, about ten centimeters, becomes a small tumbler or small vase.

The Jars, weighing one or two kilos, are made to order: magnificent large vases, true works of art, each one unique. They can hold wax directly or accommodate scented wax melts.

The right gesture

Each object contains a refillable scented wax melt. The fragrance is renewed, the object remains. This gesture honors the artisan's work, seals an intelligent collaboration, and places each piece within a framework of reuse and short supply chains. Everything is crafted in Normandy, designed to last, light, and reusable.

The light remains

The material retains the light.

The fragrance is renewed, the object remains.
